Pupil Deprivation Grant

The purpose of the grant is to improve outcomes for learners eligible for Free School Meals and Children Looked After. The intended outcome of the grant is to help overcome the additional barriers that prevent learners from disadvantaged backgrounds achieving their full potential.

Ysgol Gymraeg Y Fenni was allocated £35,031 for this purpose. We are committed to improving and supporting learners to reach their full potential. We have therefore decided to use our grant to:

• Organize assistants to work across the school to develop reading, speech, music and drama skills.
• Provide intervention groups including borderline, expected and advanced learners and targets.
• Setting short-term progress targets at the end of progression stages.
• Provide appropriate intervention and track learners' progress towards their expected end of year level.
• Ensure that PDG pupils receive individual support.
• Develop a Learning Mentor who will run Drawing and Talking groups and Lego Therapy groups.
• Courses and training, Peniarth resources, provision of mentoring sessions.
• Llangrannog PDG budget.
