Aims

The Ffrindiau aim to develop effective relationships between the staff, parents and others associated with the school. We aim to advance the education of the children by getting them involved with our fundraising and event organising whilst promoting the use of the Welsh language throughout all we do.

We aspire to organise and facilitate a varied selection of fun and entertaining fundraisers, bringing together as many people as possible, from buzzing Bingo to Summer Fair fun!

Once an event has taken place, we ask the school and children what they would like. Recently, we used £250 raised to buy new games and activities for the children to use on days when it is too wet to go out and play.

We will support the school with donations for items required such as books, technology, outdoor and sporting equipment as well as buying team kits and part funding the buses that are required to take our children to represent the school in competitions and matches.

We support our community in many ways and have recently worked with Abergavenny Community First Responders to provided free Emergency First Aid and CPR training. One of our ongoing community commitments is ‘Food Bank Friday’. Each month we collect food and give the donations to Abergavenny Food Bank. So far, we have collected over 250kg of food that has been distributed to those in our community who will benefit the most.

Overall, our main aim is to continue to work hard to provide our school with any extra support we can. Anyone can join the team even if you only have an hour a month spare, we would love to hear from you and see how you can help our children.
